Delivery

Made to order, delivered to you

Everything we sell is manufactured for your job and then delivered, anywhere in mainland UK. This is what that looks like in practice: what it costs, what drives the lead time, what turns up, and what to check before you sign.

The basics

Cost and timing

No surprises at the end: any delivery charge is in the basket before you pay, and the date is confirmed on the order rather than guessed on a web page.

What delivery costs

Delivery is included on every order to mainland UK. There is no separate delivery line to find at the end of checkout, because there is not one to charge.

What sets the lead time

The product, the glass and above all the finish. Stock colours run to the standard lead time; a custom RAL powdercoat is sprayed to order and takes considerably longer. Ask us before ordering if a date is critical.

How you find out

We come back to you with the delivery date once the order is confirmed for manufacture, and the current stage is always on the order in your account.

What arrives

What is actually on the pallet

Worth knowing before the lorry turns up, especially if you are fitting it yourself: some products arrive as one unit and some arrive as a kit, and site consumables are never included.

Bifold doors

Frame, sashes and glass, plus the handle set, lock barrel and keys, shootbolt key, magnets and the de-glazing tool. Cills and trickle vents come with it when you have ordered them.

Roof lanterns

A kit of parts: eaves beams, ridge, hips and jack rafters, the caps and glazing retainers, fixings and the glass. It assembles on your upstand, so allow time for it on the day.

Flat rooflights

A glazed unit in one piece, with the ceramic-bordered glass fitted. SIPS upstands arrive as a separate insulated kerb where you have ordered one.

Glass partitions

The frame sections and glass for the layout you ordered, with the handles and locks you chose. Black frame inside and out as standard.

Not supplied, so have it on site

Korniche packs the hardware that belongs to the product, not the consumables that belong to the installation:

  • Frame fixing screws
  • Outer frame and glazing packers
  • Low modulus silicone sealant
  • Expanding foam

Tools worth having ready

  • Cordless drill / driver
  • Glazing suction lifters
  • Spirit level and tape measure
  • Soft mallet and glazing paddle
  • PZ2 and T40 bits, 4mm hex key
  • 3mm and 5mm drill bits

As listed in the Korniche installation guides, below.

Delivery day

Getting it in cleanly

  • Someone on site. Deliveries need signing for, and nobody wants a pallet of glass left at a gate.
  • Access for a lorry. Tell us at checkout if the road is narrow, restricted or awkward, so we can plan for it rather than discover it.
  • Two pairs of hands. Glazed units and long frames are heavy and awkward. Deliveries are kerbside, so getting them round the back is your side of the line.
  • Somewhere dry and flat. Store glass on edge and supported, out of direct sun, until you are ready to glaze.

Before you sign

Four minutes that save a fortnight

  • Count the packages against the delivery note before the driver leaves.
  • Look over the glass and the powdercoated faces for chips, scratches and cracks.
  • Check the sizes on the label match the sizes on your order confirmation.
  • Photograph anything that looks wrong before it comes off the lorry if you can, and note it when you sign.

Found a problem?

Note it on the delivery paperwork, photograph it, and email us with your order number the same day. We would far rather hear about a chipped frame on delivery day than after it has been fitted.

Damages and returns

Where you stand

Straight answers, because made-to-measure works differently from off-the-shelf.

  • Damaged in transit? Report it straight away with photos, before fitting, and we put it right.
  • Faulty product? Nothing here affects your statutory rights, and a genuine fault is ours to put right with the manufacturer.
  • Measured wrong? A unit built to the sizes you confirmed cannot be remade free of charge. Use the measuring guide, and ask us if you are unsure.
  • Changed your mind? Made-to-measure goods are not returnable for a change of mind. Tell us before it reaches manufacture and we will do what we can.

The binding detail sits in our terms and conditions.

Questions

Delivery, in more detail

When will I get a delivery date?
Once your order has been placed with Made for Trade and confirmed, we come back to you with the date. You can see which stage it has reached at any time in your account.
Can you deliver to site rather than my address?
Yes. The delivery address at checkout is separate from your billing address, and you can save several addresses to your account, so a site delivery is just a different one selected at checkout.
Do you deliver outside mainland UK?
Our standard delivery covers mainland UK. If you are further afield, including the islands and the far north of Scotland, talk to us before you order and we will tell you what is possible.
Something arrived damaged. What now?
Tell us straight away, with photographs, and before you start fitting. Transit damage is much easier to resolve while the packaging is still there and nothing has been installed. Send us the photos with your order number and we will get it put right.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
A made-to-measure unit is built to your sizes and cannot be resold, so it is not returnable for a change of mind, and it cannot be remade free of charge because the opening was measured wrong. That is what the confirmation step at checkout is about. Faulty or damaged goods are a different matter entirely and are on us to put right. The detail is in our terms and conditions.
